Deactivating the chimes was the first thing I did when I collected the vehicle. Thanks to this forum. - Mike |

I for one am going to disable the chimes.... Its OK when the car is on the road, wear a seatbelt...it makes sences....but MOST of my off-roading is done without a seatbelt..... I'm normally going at walking-pace...on the flat, accross the fields, shooting...(That is, afterall, why I have a LandRover). I'm often in/out of the car, picking up rabbits etc, and the last thing you want is the car beeping all the time (Do you have ANY idea how loud this is, in the middle of the countryside where's there's very little noise.?). The Rabits will be putting up signs soon "Thanks for the warning you are on your way!" Avtur, old chap, how can I ever locate those annoying rattles arround the cabin if I have the seat belt off (in order to be able to stretch and reach various cabin spots) while listening to 'ding dong". Plus I have to drive 150m from my main entrance to garage, no seat belt needed then. Anyway we have the seat-belt instument panel light to remind us to be 'good' boys and girls (that's for Shar - btw not too many females in our forum ). |
