Removal and refitting of Door Handles - Now With Pictures

Okay, okay...I've pulled and poked and twisted Evil or Very Mad (probably not hard enough!)

What is the secret to removing the door handles to replace them with body-colour coded ones? Rolling Eyes

Cheers for any pointers/instructions - Andy

So, I've replaced my doors handles following the instructions supplied, thanks to everybody for those Thumbs Up .

Whilst I was doing it I took a few photos of the tricky bits so I hope they help anybody else who is going to replace theirs too Idea

Handle before These are the original ones fitted. They look much greyer in the photos than in real life Rolling Eyes

Remove the blanking plug from the access hole. The lock retaining screw can just be seen in the photo, it's about 2.5cm in so you need a Torq screw driver or bit that is thin enough to fit through the access hole and long enough to reach. It's a T-25 size.

UNDOING A FEW TURNS. You don't want drop the screw inside the door! I turned a quarter turn then tried the lock to see if it was loose.

Remove the handle as per instructions Simply pull the handle towards the back of the car about 2cm to disengage.

This is a close-up of the lock housing showing the lock retaining screw.

The rest is as per the instructions provided...

Handles After The final result is very pleasing Cool , Sumatra Black handles for the win Thumbs Up

Shiny, shiny
