Another day, another problem...

When I select reverse gear the parking sensor tone is coming on constantly, regardless of what is around me. It's the lower of the two pitches if that makes any sense - is that the rears? I tried wiping the sensors clean but makes no difference. I am in the work car park today and I wonder if someone has nudged me

I had this on my car, but only when the car was wet and had been getting wet for some time.

I had the it does it for me, but not the garage time after time, eventually i took it to the garage and they used some sort of parking sensor test device and located the faulty sensor.

This was replace, they said it had been corroded by water ingressing. and they have been fine since.

but, now my rear sensors are doing the same  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It says in the manual not to use a high pressure jet on the sensors. Difficult to avoid but I guess I am guilty. Although I haven't cleaned it for weeks, as the dealer keeps doing it for me...

I clarified the pressure jets as I use these too when washing, they said it was fine but dont use prolong jetting on the sensor or been too close.

I find a good jet down, foam the car and a wipe over with a nice soft sponge or mitt works fine.

My dogde sensor nearly always happened when it had been raining, as if it seaped down it the harness that supports them.

I would take it to the dealer and let them have a look but, upon them doing any work make sure they have resecured the sensors prior to leaving the dealer, when they do it they have to take bumper off and each sensor then has to have a securing clip attached when put back in, if they don't they fall back into the bumper and the bumper has to come off again to fix it. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
