Has my towbar wiring been programmed?

Just had an indy fit a towbar and dedicated electrics. He did some checks with the electrics, but don't know exactly what the Mrs was at home at the time.

Anyway, i've fitted the light board and all the lights work and a little green trailer appears on the dash when the indicators are on.

There are no other indications that a light board is connected (e.g., at systems check when the key goes in) and the parking sensors at the rear still work when in reverse.

What would be different if I took it to a LR and they programmed it?

Looks OK with the little tell tale flasher showing the indicators are working but with the system set by LR when you are connected and select reverse the rear sensors do not work.

Also the Rear Fogs on the Freely will become inoperable if all is well when your trailer is attached Thumbs Up

And a biker on a Fireblade stuck in the radiator grille.

Did some more checking last night and found that the rear fogs won't come on when the light board is plugged in. Looks like I can samve myself £72 that LR want for programming.

Still not sure whether the rumors to changes in ESP ABS etc have any merit. Since my car is a manual, the 'auto' box effects don't apply.

Thanks so far.
