Anybody had problems with the battery backed battery / alarm BBS causing electrical issues such as indicators not working , headlights staying on Washers not working. Can anyone tell me where the BBS is on the Freelander2 Please help THANKS mocoe

If it's about the anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery, then it is in the plenum chamber, near the engine ECU.

Alex is right as usual, several members have had that trouble, dont know why I thought it was in the boot , audis have them there

If as Alex assumes, that you are talking about the battery back up sounder, i'm bemused as to how this would affect the wiper circuit or indeed any other. The sounder only uses the internal battery should it loose it's primary 12volt supply.
Unless the sounder is going off and you could have a blown fuse. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I too have had a replacement BBUS unti amoungst many other bits and it does effect the wipers etc for some reason and is another known fault ! I understand if the BBUS unit has round holes rather than elongated slots then its possibly a faulty unit ! thats what I was told by my dealer.
The BBUS unit is in the buld head behind the battery !

I'm sorry I don't.
All I do know was that one of the many issues I had was the wipers going off at random! Even when the key was removed and the headlights comming on at random and in full sunshine! The workshop supervisor said that had experimcesd a few doing this and it was the BBus unit if it was the ols style with round holes. Mine was replced but didn't cure my wipers or lights but fitting the extra earth strap did !

Yepee problem solved Car with landrover for 5 Hrs Diagnostic machine did not pick up problem. they were ringing me up on the hour asking me if they should continue I was getting a bit P ... off and i asked If they had contacted L.R. technical , so they did AND hey presto they were told it might be the headlight moduel and it was! I said to them that I think there diagnostic machine should be put on a diagnostic machine and said If they had sought help sooner it would only be a 1 hour job . I could'nt get talking to anyone of inportance and ended up paying for 3 hours work @ £90 per hour plus part + vat . any body any views.  mocoe

yes, why are you paying for their lack of knowledge or experience ?
Especially the bit where if its at a dealer they normally say " Fully backed by are Land-rover trained technicians"
Typical response if the computer says no ! then they don't know !
I would question how they justify charging £90.00 hour if they haven't even got the gump to contact L/R.
I would offer to pay 1 hr and that's it !
