Hey Builder, check out my galleries Our cars sound hugely similar....I have the privacy too and it really finishes the car off plus the security, reduced night glare from headlights and reduced sun glare in the day its great. My ICE specialist who also does window tinting said film is the poor relation, if you can have it factory tinted do it as however good the film is applied it scratches, lifts, catches and is easily marked over the months and years, even with window travel up down up down starts to fog the film...so dig deep and get the tinted glass, it looks darker looking in than looking out.

Check my galleries Thumbs Up and good luck with your choice

Definately going for tint Smile Smile Smile
That is if I don't stick with the clear.
Must admit though I do like the look of the tint on your motor and starting to sway towards it.
I'ts just the rear passengers I'm thinking about, I don't want the kids or others feeling that they are traveling in the dark all of the time. Is it not a bit depressing on a dull day Question
P.S. Your gallery is the best advert for a fl2 that I have seen yet, Beats all the tv adverts. Thumbs Up

Don't tell him that

Good to hear you gone for the tint, rear only, I don't think its too dark when your sitting in the car looking out, though my Nanna-in-Law keeps commenting on how dark its got when we take her home, but she's old!!! Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Got to hand it to him though npinks, looking at his gallery really does show you what the fl2 can do, and to think that one of the reasons for buying mine was to tow my caravan off the odd muddy field Embarassed (which unfortunately my Volvo V70 has problems with at times).

Absolutely disgraceful, how a perfectly normal topic gets twisted round to the C Censored N again...hang your heads in shame!!

The Privacy glass question is all a matter of choice and personally I think it can look really odd only having it on the rear, but on sunny days it can be a god send.

At the end of December I'll pick my Stornoway Grey LR2 up and i'll have 30% tints on the front windows, but am wondering if I should keep the same percentage on the rear windows as well or slightly darker i.e. 40% or 50%?? What do you think?

On one hand I want everybody to see me smiling in my LR2, but on the other hand I don't.....but also more importantly is keeping the sun/heat off of me when driving.

Tinted front glass is not allowed over here - some want to abuse the option in order to stay hidden from other drivers, Police etc & there is actually no justification based upon the weather we have.

I have 40% at the rear - it does the job but your eyes are not drawn to the front / rear colour difference. 50% was too much, 30% was OK - but 40% was best for my needs !

Likewise Jimmy, in the Uk we are not allowed dark on the front passenger and driver side windows or the windscreen. Many people say ban sunglasses then, but at night you do not wear sun glasses Laughing . The kids like the blacked out rear windows and they do not seem that dark looking out. Plus we have the wifes Mini Cooper with the blacked out rear windows, so to a point, we have a matching pair Laughing

At the end of the day its personel taste.....this site hopes to help the undecided with our advice, comments and photos.

Npinks my old pal I think the motors look great with a c Censored n on the back or even without..as my wife knows I am broad minded Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter and the fact builder has made my head swell has just made the wife even happier. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Embarassed ...oh sorry wrong head Whistle Whistle Embarassed Twisted Evil ....sorry Mountain!! we dont want naughty thoughts do we!!! what was I thinking........... Sorry if I upset you gambba by diverting for a moment but, having been diverted to the gallery of carlfraz which was to check out his privacy glass, (still in keeping with the topic) I was very impressed whith what I saw and simply expressed my opinion and, felt put to shame when the only mud my car is likely to see is a muddy caravan site.

They are all (Well Most of them) anti caravan on here Laughing , some can't even bring themselves to type CARAVAN and abreviate it to C Censored N

I totally agree with npinks about there being many anti caravanners on this site. However I think it is (or hope it is) only friendly banter. If there are any caravanning questions to ask with relation to the FL2 I'm sure we will be able to answer them. Thumbs Up

It's not allowed in Holland either, but it is in Dubai where my car is and I think for good reason due to the extreme heat (UV) over there. 30% is legal, but many cars are way over that, and the police are starting to try and clamp down on it.
