yes I have, many times, once whilst towing a 20 tonne water tank, we had to let the water our before it would tow out At work

This got stuck on Mersea Hard last week with the tide coming in, it took a army tow truck and a large tractor to free it before it got submerged !

Sadly we are not exactly spoilt for choice now are we, biggest builder here now is Daf, not exactly a top class vehicle, can be compared to a Lada. Bedford supplied the Army for years. Gone Scammel. Gone. Leyland, bought by Daf and gone downhill. ERF, bought by MAN Foden, new ones rarely seen now in now owned by Paccar and I think Paccar have their fingers in DAF. Seddon Atkinson. Gone. Ford, closed down over here and jumped it with Iveco |

So true - In the recent years the Foden trucks were just Leyland specials with customer options, then they dropped the Foden name. Leyland is owned by Paccar.
