We have all been there !!, parked your car in the biggest space you could find, no one in sight, only to return to a scuff/chip/dent on your car.

Scaramanga, feel for you but it is a fine art dodging these parking away from the crowd is not so good as you can park the most desolate car park away from anyone and wthin minutes some will park eitherside of you There is a local retail park to me which is poorly designed that I only go there just before closing when it is almost empty to avoid all the cars park parallel to the shops with a space in between for pedestrians about every 40 car spaces, hence the shoppers walk between the cars dragging their shopping between the cars the spaces are designed for Peugeot 107's so you have to park with the offside or nearside wheels on the lines with the hope that no one attempts to squeeze in the bay next to lik some one did to me and I couldn't even get down the side , let alone open the door.

I had my previous FR2 for 2 years and it collected a fair number of dinks and scratches in car parks plus two significant yet unexplained dents to the rear O/S bumper corner.....£2k to fix the latter. I echo the advice about strategic parking......

Park right on the line is my best advice, tends to discourage anyone from attempting to park on your nearside and leaves a good gap on the drivers side.

I kid you not. I picked up my new SD4 a few months back and 20 minutes later I pulled in to a service station to have a feed. As I sat there and tucked into an unhealthy burger, I watched through a massive glass wall as a car pulled in next to my new ride and the passenger opened the back door without any regard whatsoever - bang! Dint within 20 minutes. Now I know it's only a vehicle and nobody gives a rats any more, but 20 minutes!!!! As I stepped up to head out and belt the fat motherf, I noted 4 cops eating their lunch. Perhaps a record? Still, there seemed no point in avoiding nics anymore so I soon after headed off the highway into the bush to test out the new offroad gizmos and proceeded to put my own scratched all away along the sides. At least I don't fret at car parks any more! |

Do you think there would be the market for 'off-roading' damage stickers/transfers for the 'non-off-roader' to make the FL2 look like it's been used in a proper way.

Way to go! But still, there are ones which don't think like that and regard the car like a member of the family... See all the messages about cleaning, polishing, detailing, etc. and the amout of time invested in this.... Wait... wait guys, don't throw stones at me, just kidding.... |
