i'm sure you don't need a mount, though i haven't read the thread full as i have the OEM satnav

To fill the hole and do bluetooth headset functions, you could use a Garmin 1490T (search the forums and check my gallery). It doesn't do the muting of the stereo though and I found the audio quality to be not great!

Troppo5, The Garmin 1490T is an almost exact fit for the OE hole and can be installed neatly - Land Rover Australia fit it as an alternative to the factory unit on the latest models I believe. It has bluetooth although I don't use the phone option on mine. The Garmin doesn't need a bracket for fitting in the cubby hole, it can be wedged in with a minimum of fuss. have you thought about a complete new double din touchscreen unit taking out the old stereo. there are some available with aus warranty - search ebay - i have seen some ok reviews on the tunez and other brands |
