When I first took an interest in FL2's the facelift had only just happened, so I saw them first side by side without being previously used to either.

With the very greatest of respect to all here, I can't see why the pre-facelift FL2 was originally designed the way it was, unless it was simply to look like a style evolution of the original FL1.

WARNING: sensible comment......

As we are all different why shouldn't we make of vehicles different?

It's no different to a tummy-tuck, bCensoredb job or 'face-lift'

Well it definitely doesn't look like a fish but it certainly doesn't look as good from the front as the MY10 or older. The back end is even worse as has been mentioned before.

You can just imagine the guy who designed the chrome strip at the back saying to his boss 'sir, I have re-designed the rear of the Freelander 2'. His boss should have said 'Jenkins you idiot, that's not re-designed, that's just rubbish!'

No chance. I will stick with the much better looking MY10. I would sooner buy a high mileage original than the chrome ar Censored monstrosity. Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Couldn't give a monkeys about facelift or pre-facelift grille etc.the SD(facelift) standard Auto and 190 engine with overboost, has, NO vibrations, Brilliant acceleration which leaves the boy racers standing, handles better than many upmarket saloons and regularly gives 40 mpg.
That suit me fine.
Black is now off my colour list,
2007 Black Honda CRV was problem from day 1
2008 Silver FL2 was so good i bought a new Black 2010my
2010 Black FL2 plagued with vibrations from new, never fixed.
2011 Silver FL2 SD brilliant.

Chrome strip is usually covered in dirt anyway. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.
