Hi all,

During the 1st few seconds when the engine starts - the "passenger no.2 airbag off" sign illuminates (yellow) in the ceiling display.

Then the warning sign disappears.


Is this temporary warning message OK - or should this (ceiling) sign never illuminate, unless you have manually switched the airbag off or there is a fault ?

Its a test function, just like the ones that come up on the dashboard when starting the car.

If you turn the airbag off, or there is a fault the light would be perminantly on. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

funny .... I only just noticed that warning light too ... after 4 months of ownership!

Hello JIMMY,Mine has just started doing that to after a trip to the dealers for minor repairs.I never noticed it before that and had car since March 2007.Took it back and asked if it was ok and was told that it supposed to be like that.But i tell you i never noticed it before and done 7000mls in it .TA ROVERS. I have a LR2GS with privacy glass and winter pack

It happened exactly the same to me, when I pick up my RRS after first oil change on a dealership: I believe, it is because we are scare after any visit to the dealership , and we take a deep look!
The air bag passenger warning does the same test function on my LR2  Yuri
