FL2 and a spot of evening off roading

These pics refer to the upcoming meet in Derbyshire if anyone is interested as per this post: http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic7769.html

Anyway, I decided to have an off roading session this evening down a couple of tracks near to Chatsworth and Darley Moor. These will be covered when we meet and frankly they proved to be very rocky and some nice big mud puddles were available thanks to last nights thunderstorm. In the last picture I took out of the back window, you should just be able to see the Mitsubishi Shogun I had to squeeze past going the other way.

Here are the pics courtesy of my iPhone 4:

Typical misjudgment of pictures. These pictures never do off roading any justice. Trust me its very rocky and there was one point along the route where I heard a faint scraping on the underside so almost pushing the ground clearance limits of the FL2. Wouldn't be an issue anywhere with good old Defender! LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Interesting pics but the FL2 has ground clearance issues as was highlighted on LR day so the Disco and Defender et al are more capable in that regard.

Whereabouts were those pics taken? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Orchard: Lulworth, Dorset (the 90 is mine too)
Cider barrels: My house, Dorset
Snow: Puddletown, Dorset - on call for Wessex 4x4 Response
Woodland: Holland
Sand hole: Luxembourg

The latter two pics taken on the Help for Heroes European Rally 2011

FL2 may have clearance issues, but it's lighter and can hold a line through slippery surfaces better than some heavier vehicles. Most times you ground a vehicle it's poor line choice rather than an inherent vehicle problem.

When I get a FL2 I'll put some underbody armour on it and happy days Thumbs Up Current driveway contents:

That's the plan, but unlikely to be a new one. work is rather slack and with the miles I do, the smaller vehicle makes sense. going to swap the 90 for a D2 for workhorse and towing duties and hopefully end up with some money in the bank for a change! Current driveway contents:
