Not sure if the exhaust pipe is the lowest point under the car.

Anybody having pictures showing the car from under ?

Hi countryside,

Don't have pictures to make the point but agree that the exhaust is the lowest point of the vehicle. I have taken my car off road many times and on occasion I know it has bottomed out but I have to say that the exhaust has not sustained any damage because of it. However I've been on a couple of Land Rover Experience events and remember that the last one I attended the instructor told me the exhaust had been damaged !!

I've been peering under my Freelander2.

I reckon the exhaust pipe and the two big black squarish plastic bits either side are the lowest.

I assume they are part of the diesel tank. If that is correct, I hope they are strong, or flexible, as I shall be
driving a lot off road down in Spain next spring, negotiating some large deep pot holes amongst other very rough terrain.

Thats why I left my side pipes on before we went to Tong in Sept. The pipes sit at the same level as the exhaust pipe

Yes, you're quite right, the big black squarish plastic bits are the fuel tank!!! To me it's a bit of a concern that they are the lowest points !!!

You can get sump and tank gaurds but I think they could be better protected as standard considering they are designed for off road use

Had a look this week-end and made some measurements.

Looks like the front protection is about as low as the exhaust & fuel tank in the back !
