Parker's guide set an 08/08 (you were a little vague about the age, so I took the nearest guess) to that spec and mileage at £20,715 as a PX. £23,115 for a private sale in good condition.

Hi, yes it a June 2008 08. How reliable is Parkers compared to the "trade" Glasses and Cap guides |

From what a good friend in the motor trade tells me, none of the guides are accurate! As with so many things in life, what the car is only worth is what someone is prepared to pay for it, irrespective of what any guide may say. When a used car is valued a dealer might say that the value of the car is under or over "book value", depending on how far out they feel the guides are at the time. The best that you can do is treat the £20,715 valuation as a starting price against which you can compare the dealer's bids. |

Also depends how much profit the dealer has to play with in the car they are selling you and how desperate they are to sell, and also wether they are planning to retail your fl2 or trade it on. The important figure is the amount you need to part with to change! Someone might offer you a great price but their car might be way over priced. |

thanks guys. I had about 21k in mind. That said Stratstones seem to be knocking them out at 19k with even 09 platers at 23k on the forcourt! |

I had an 08 plate HSE with same mileage as a lease car until end of March 2011. Went back and ended up for sale at a dealer for £24K - and sold within a week!!! Only difference was that it had a bodykit and privacy glass which might make it worth more than a standard version. I suppose as a p/x dealer would have offered no more than 20K? Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
