Looks good. I'm not sure about side steps though. You tend to catch the back of your trouser legs on them as you get out. I'm thinking of the side bars in stainless steel instead. I like the wood trim on the dash, though. |

Also tricky when off roading. Some members don't bother off roading but I do and the places I have been would have been very iffy with side steps fitted. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

i've heard people loosing the trim of the bottom of their doors with steps as it is easy to get something cought (like snow for example) which just rips the trim of when you open the door... Trust me you don't need steps to loose the door trim, having lost the passenger side twice and the drivers side once.

The car is too low & door too small to suit sidesteps. You will find them a pain as you will 'step over ' them and get your trousers dirty. Disco/Rangie/Sport essential IMHO, but not FL2. 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE Auto

I had mine taken off by the independent dealer I bought the car from before I picked the car up.

I saw a Nissan X-Trail today. It was a sort of purple colour similar to the Bali Blue colour. It had chrome side steps and to be honest I thought it looked crap. FL2 is better looking of course but as others have said, side steps don't suit the FL2. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Handy to stand on when washing the roof of the car, though. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

I find the side steps handy and think they enhance the cars lines. As an added bonus they protect the doors from the idiots at the local supermarket!! |

I believe there are only four or six bolts that hold each one on. You have to prise the lower plastic trim off (under the doors) and you will see the mounting points. Remove these bolts leaving the 'rivnuts' in place. The other bolts are accessible from underneath. The plastic lower trim should just 'pop' back into place on its clips. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!! Gone - 2008 Freel2 HSE Santorini Black Hello - 2010 RRS TDV6 3.0 HSE Santorini Black |
