Could anyone please advise me of what sort of range is available from a full tank of diesel (Manual preferably) on mixed driving.

Based on the previous topics on MPG, it would appear to be in the region of 500 - 550. Might be a bit on the high side but I am sure you will keep me right.

As you can tell, I have not yet bit the bullet and got one yet but I always like to know what to expect before a major purchase.

I cover quite a godd mix of roads during a normal week. Approx 300-350 miles motorway the rest A-road & town driving. I get between 480 - 520 miles each week depending how heavy the right foot is .
I drive a manual. Approx 34mpg.

I'll second what simmo says, get approx 480 - 520 depending on driving style and distance, I'm averaging 33mpg to and from Portlethen each day (and you know what the traffic in Aberdeen is like at rush hour )and manage to squeeze 520 out of a tank full on a long run.

So far I clocked about 10.000 miles and the average MPG is 36,63.
The minimum MPG for a full tank is 34,87, the maximum 40,60.
This is a mix of all sorts of driving on and off-road with a TD4 manual. 

Well, I know I guessed around 500 - 550 based at the quoted 37 mpg but I didn't think that it would be that close.

My current A4 2.0 TDi gets about the same sort of distance out of a similar sized tank.

OK, it is nearer 550 miles out of about £60 of diesel for the A4 but given that the FL2 is a little less aerodynamic I would have thought it would have been a bigger difference.

Look's like I might have to get my order in soon (well after Christmas anyway ).

UKDave104, did you get yours from the local stealer? If so, how would you rate them for service?

Looking at ordering through allbrandsnew as they are £3500 cheaper than list.
I know that it is an import, but all Land Rovers have a 3 Year world wide warranty so shouldn't be a problem. I have had an imported Subaru WRX before and didn't have any problems and I read heard a lot of good reviews about them so should be OK.
At least I don't have to worry about the daily commute

Yep, got it from Town & County at Tullos. haven't had a service done yet (only 4 months old) but the sales guy was pleasant and was good to deal with.

Car actually goes in tomorrow to be looked at because the revs keep dipping when sat stationary in traffic, should be just a software update (just like windows) will let you know how I get on.

Do not expect to go above 450 miles on 15 gallons (near as damn it tank capacity) on a working week, with some town runs at the weekends. I base this figure on 33percent urban and 66 percent dual carriageway.

On a long run, careful driving and not going over 70mph expect something 500 to 550, keep the speed down to boring 56 to 60 you can expect 550 to 600 miles to the tank full. Total mileage to date for the LR2 is 2091 consuming a total of 337 litres. The average mpg is 28.5ish; however, on the last two refills i have been averaging 32 mpg. The dealer has said I should expect to exceed an average of 38 mpg after 5000 miles

My mix of all sort of driving on-road the last 5 month give 12,5 km / liter based on 1.135 liter diesel (manuel ) over 14.206 km with engine on from 2 min. (short drive) to over 10 hours (long drive).

Tanked up again today 444 miles and 57 litres. This equates to 12.54 / litre or 35.41 miles / gallon. That is 2 mpg better than when I was at the 1200 miles mark. My journey for five days a week comprises 2 miles urban and 64 miles motorway each day. I did fill up at the airport one day and achieved a reported 40.4 mpg when arriving back at home, but this average was blown to smithereens at the weekend after going ten pin bowling ! GS TD4 All Black

Just did Bedfrord to Leeds in the auto, best I got was 38.6mpg didn't go over 70mph in my auto TD4 with roof rails and cross bar!!! which must affect things. Best I got out of the old manual was 46mpg.

Currently like you though Dave, I am getting 27.7mpg mainly town driving and heavy foot when breaking free of the queues. I could not achieve my earlier figures everyday, I did not buy the Freely to performon fuel economy, that said for the size and speed it provides the figures are pretty good

Come on guys none of you are trying very hard in the economy stakes....................................... I did a 660 mile round trip run to the Coventry get-together last weekend on a tankful of derv (86 litres) and I averaged what you guys get and I was sat between 70 and XXXmph. The best so far seen on the trip computer has been 65.8mpg over a mile after fueling up at Coventry on Monday morning, but I must admit that was on no throttle creeping in the school run traffic and it was all down hill but I am regularly seeing 33mpg and the car has now got 2300miles on it. And my car is running with a 3.6ltr V8 and is pulling around 3.1tonnes of car! Commuter/town driving (in Glasgow and Stirling) gives around 26-27mpg.  How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
