Windscreen wipers

Have had some issues with my windscreen wipers.

Before I start et me point out that the driver's seat is on the left side looking forward.

1st the left one overshot the window hitting the left sill making a clacking noise. This resulted in replacing the left motor, but also the comming together of the 2 wipers in teh middle making my heart stop the first time it happened.

2nd becouse of that they replaced both motors which did reduce it but not resolve it.

3th time they replaced the blades which reduced it even more but I am still not convinced it is resolved. When driving home from the dealer they hit again once when I turned them on on a dry screen with whasher fluid sproyed on them. They never hit each other again since.

Today it was raining on my 2hr drive and had no issue.

I still think they come dangerously close together when whiping an I think on a dry screen, when the rubber sticks a bit making the whiping that little bit slower, they might hit again.

I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue or had it resolved as it annoys me endlessly I had to return 3 times already to resolve it. Untill now I could combine it with other issues, but they are all sorted now. So if I have tot retrurn to the dealer this time I'd like it to be the final time. The noice it makes when they tangle up in each other almost gave me heart attack and you feel kinde silly when it happens when standing at a red light.

FL2's having just one (wiper) motor and a simple wiper linkage, so if the wiper's arms are correctly installed and the wipers have the correct size (one 24" and one 20") they can't hit each other. Simple physics... Very Happy

If they are on splined shafts, then a slight adjustment could be made, but I'd be wary.

It's easy to adjust.
We start from the premises that you have a LHD vehicle.
Adjust the right wiper (passenger) in that way that, when in repaus position, between the rightmost edge of the wiper (the one near the right A pillar) and the botom of the screen to be 35 mm.
Adjust the left wiper (driver) in that way that, when in vertical position, to not hit the left A pillar or when in repaus position to be aprox. parallel with the bottom of the windscreen.
Adjusting is done by unscrewing the wiper arms nuts and using a special extractor for the wiper arms.

Some windshields have on the bottom side, on left, center and right, some small circles.
Those circles are for adjusting the wipers.
If you have those, adjust the wiper arms in that way that the wipers to be on the circles or tangent to the circles in the upper part of the circles.
