Engine cutting out

This is my first entry, love my car march 07 reg gs manuel 8000 miles covered however had misfortune of engine cutting out while doing 70mph on outside lane on motorway awful experience drifting accross the lanes with very limited power steering and total loss of power managed to drift to hard shoulder towed home via landrover assistance and taken to local dealer. They couldnt start car and checked it over eventually they got it to start without actually knowing what they did to fix it. I now have the car back and it does start but i dont feel totally confident as the fault hasnt been clearly identified and my worry is the same could happen again.Anyone else had similiar problem and if so how was it solved ?

Hi bob (not the bob wilson ?)

Welcome ....have heard of a similar problem see http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic1138.html not sure its the same thing , if it ever happens again i would suggest not taking the car back unless they can assure you they have found and fixed the problem good luck Thumbs Up

Don't panic Bob...I hope you won't but we have had lots of problems on this forum and some we can't shift.......like GS699 Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Seriously, the benfit the new owners have is that I would like and hope is most of the problems have been encountered and we can share our knowlegdge and advice of such things, relieveing the new owner of stress and heartache.

Many of us Bob have had many problems as you may have read, some more than others but if I speak for the band of merry men (and woman) who are generally intoxicated by 20.30hrs!! we are all very pleased with the cars, problems or not.

Hope you have many trouble free miles Thumbs Up

bob todd

HMHB did do a track bob todd and more recently they did Bob wilson - anchorman of an ep called editors recommendation, it questions itvs wisdom of giving bob a presenters role.this is a most helpful site and regarding my original post has helped to put my mind at rest.
