The FL2 is the runt of the litter.

The Defender out "toughs" it.
The D4 out "bogs" it.
The RRS out "guns" it.
The FFRR out "comfies" it.

And the Evoke will out "Chelsea" it until they see the light of day, which they won't due to its restricted fenestration.

Therefore, in the closed inner sanctum of LR's "Corporate Credulity Think Tank" the FL2 is now the runt of the marque, targeted only to hairdressers, manicurists, chiropodists, and folks with a predilection of seeing only the reflection of all visible light rays in one, and, to those with an inability to concentrate their thoughts due to insufficient levels of cyanocobalamin.

I feel quite anaemic after reading that. Whistle MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

The Freelander 2 is surprisingly capable off road and can go virtually anywhere that its bigger brothers can go. What it lacks in technology it makes up for in its lighter weight.

Another element of the Xirallic xenophobia is that Land Rover are giving priority of "supply" to their new starlet: the cash cow Evoke. They don't want too much poor PR relating to "lack of colour choice and customer disappointment re having to change their choice of body colour" to meet the launch deadline.

So you FL2 runts are last at the Halewood feeding trough until at least Q4.

But the same restrictions apply across the range - I couldn't order an Evoke (even if I wanted to!) in any of the unavailable colours

Yes Tigger restrictions do apply - but - priority (damage limitation) is given to Evoke orders until pigment supplies are fully back to normal. Rationing is unavoidable, and for LR it has come at the worst possible moment - the launch of a brand new model to expand the companies customer base and therefore it merits special consideration when allocating resources.

Couldn't agree more that the timing couldn't be any worse for LR, it certainly can't help the initial impact when none of the striking colours will be available at launch; for a car that's going to be such a fashion item it certainly won't help.

On a postcard: a crystalline compound found in the liver that contains cobalt and cyanide, the lack of which (amongst other things) makes an individual lethargic, and lacking energy. It is commonly referred to as Vitamin B12. In severe cases of need the B12 is administered intravenously. Her Ladyship shot the equivalent of a single 6mth dosage into me (plus a cocktail of other stuff) to bring me back from the abyss one eventful day a couple of years ago.

and I bet she regrets that, unless she was trying to OD you! Shocked

Not sure you can do that on a B12 mind you.

You could slam in a few years worth of the body's normal level of B12 in one go (not recommended or approved practice) and you'd feel unwell from the cyanide, but it is a pointless medium to knock someone off on as it is easily traceable and would not have an instant lethal impact. She does have some better stuff to instantly send you off to the pearly gates if you upset her. That's why she's Her Ladyship and I'm her humble man servant.
