Actually completly wrong. This vehicle is not aimed at the guy with his flat cap and overalls on, rather the Chelsea and Alderly edge set. Its not a chuck everything in the back land Rover, hence the name Range Rover. its put so many people off that all production for this year is already sold prior to the launch A different market. different tastes. But will sell as many as the freelander 2if not more. |

The Evoque looks like a scaled down and better looking Bimmer X6 to me. Except, being made by Land Rover, it will perform off-road. Though most owners won't really care beyond the capability for getting them home in a light dusting of snow.

Actually very little of the running gear is common with FL2 and most of the floor pan is different too. |

Only about 10-20% of the Evoque is from a FL2. The 4wheel drive system is the same as are the diesel engines, albeit modified to make them quieter. |

evoque has same front running gear, rear brakes are different due to the evoques electric handbrake, it has no brake cables and a smaller alloy hub At work

I can tell you that the engine management software is more or less identical between the SD4 Auto Evoque and the SD4 FL2 Auto, with only minimal changes here and there. Some advance maps are slightly different, which could indeed make it sound quieter, but I doubt there is much in it in reality. Regards, Gary. |
