LED Bulb Replacement List

I was thinking of putting together a "simple" list of what bulb can be replaced by what LED. So everyone can have access to an easy to follow and understand list.

If everyone could post which bulb they replaced and what LED they replaced it with in this thread I'll put together the list and continually edit this post showing the list.

Furyan, I would be really interested in this list. I was looking into replacing the interior lights and the external puddle lights as well so this would be a big help Thumbs Up TD4, HSE, Santorini Black, SS side protection tubes, clear side repeaters, chrome wing mirror covers

Thanks for the initiative.
Just a small suggestion. Modify the title as "LED Bulb Replacement List" or something similar, to not be confused with the normal bulb list from the handbook.
Thank you again!

I changed a couple of mine, under mirror and rear number plate. I'm still looking for better ones though as mine are slightly too blue and under powered.
I'd be interested in a definitive list. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Hi, just wondering how we can take off the rear number plate one? as I could not figure out how to take the cover off. Thanks.

BabyFox, find a narrow bladed screwdriver and gently insert it into the slot on the left hand side of the lamp, the cover should release on that side so you can tilt it slightly to remove it.

 Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

I have a spare boot handle I'll try get a internal picture to show the clips from the inside, I found mine difficult on the old car and cracked the lens, though my screwdriver would not have been classed a small Embarassed Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Why are LEDs better?

What is the purpose of substituting LEDs for perfectly serviceable bulbs :

- longer life?

- brighter?

- nicer colour?

- lower power consumption?

Or just because we like faffing with our cars?

I've just put these lamps I got from Ultraleds in the door mirrors and door bottom puddle lamps.

501/194/T10 Mini Light Tower 6 Leds Xenon White (110) New (U5016CW)

They give out a very bright white light and are rated at 110 lumens brightness. A little costly at around £5 each, but work superbly in those locations.

Update;
Unfortunately, I just checked on their website & I can't find them now. It might be worth e-mailing to check availability, though. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

I just looked again at ultraleds, and they have a brighter led listed, that would replace the door mirror and door bottom puddle lamps;

501/194/T10 Anti Bulb Warning Xenon White Wide Angle 13 Leds U501ACW13

This is listed as 195 lumen and draws 3.3 watts. 195 lumen will be very very bright if my 110 lumen lamps are anything to go by. Shocked Cool
As it is also anti can-bus (anti-bulb warning), they should be ok in the front sidelights, but may be a little too bright, and be a bit too long (at 42mm it's more of an appearance thing than clearance).

There is also another possibility for puddle lamps;

501/194/T10 Mini Light Tower 15 Leds Xenon White (110) Original [U50115W]

This is another 110 lumen lamp. Not suitable for sidelights, though. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!
