I might as piggin' well. The name "Trotter" stands as much chance as any other name previously mention on this topic.

The usual magazines were using Ventura when Freelander 2 came out in 2006 and Highlander when FL1 came out in 1804 so neither of those stand any chance, hence I'll vote with my feet (or trotters) and announce the new Land Rover Trotter!

errrrr what? It wouldn't be a new model then would it!?

Perhaps the urban version, probably with 2-wheel drive only, could be a NoLander!

As most of the current range's (including the Evoque) development was paid for by Ford, while sharing a lot of components, engines and even platforms with Ford, I'm not sure how a stand alone manufacturer could justify the development costs for a replacement car. Especially when the production volumes on the current Freelander 2 have only been 250,000 in the first 4 years.

Unless there is significant cooperation with another major manufacturer, I would expect the Freelander 3 to be no more than a re-skin of the current car. Imagine the change from Disco 1 to Disco 2. Mind you, that would seem like a brilliant idea!...

The Evoque is more or less a reskin of the FL2

The Defender may not change at all, it may just get to the end of the road and thats it, their may not be a replacement.
