I have a witter fixed height tow bar with twin electrics. It is witter dedicated electrics which just plug into the land rover sockets. Then got dealer to reprogram car to recognise kit. Cost about 350 ish for toward and electrics and 50 for dealer to program. Properly programmed it does the simple things like flashing trailer on dash and only turning front parking sensors on when using sensors but i think it does more important things like set up ESP (electronic stability control) and RSC (role stability control) specifically for towing. I'll take a pic tomorrow and show u my set up. Went for fixed height to add protection to exhaust when off road. I had the Landrover bar fitted £ 350 at the dealer including genuine landrover electrics. I have since had the electrics changed to the single 13 pin euro socket at the L/Rover dealer. so simple and quick now to hitch up van.

Sorry - Oldgeezer make sure the new swan neck attachment you get has the numbers 215 stamped on the top of the ball area, anything other than that is not to the latest specification |

Many thanks, Mines a 311 at present, The dealer didnt inspire me with confidence and he didnt seem to be aware of any issue but i reserve judgement untill its been in ! He said they would have to look at it first ! ( usuall excuse ! its been in before since new for the tow bar clonking ! ) So if it isnt changed when i collect it then it will be time for me to blow a fuse ! When i was on the phone to the Manager I rattled the swan neck in its holder and he could hear it knocking over the phone ! thats how bad it is ! I will post when its been in for its 3rd service. |
