If the price isn't much higher, stick with LR. That website is correct when it says having it serviced with them won't void your warranty but when I considered going elsewhere my LR dealership told me (they would obviously) that the other garage's people aren't LR trained (stands to reason), you may have to insist they use genuine LR parts and of course not having it done by LR won't look so good in the service history book come selling or part chop time.

The dealer also said that if you have a problem out of warranty, LR will take into account you have always had it serviced by them and do a goodwill gesture by paying a percentage of a repair bill. They won't do that if you have it serviced elsewhere apparently.

The cost of my 1st service was quoted by LR as £320 when I could have paid £270 at Shardlow 4x4 garage. Pleased I didn't now, here is my feedback on the service: http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic8877.html LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

You could try TFC he is LR approved for servicing and will come to you and costs less than dealerships and goes the extra mile and will give you a heads up if anything else isn't quite right especially if you're still in warranty.

Hi, I use Lookers in colchester and have found them to be helpful and polite. Phone and ask to speak to the service organiser and haggle for a good deal. You will be surprised how much they will knock off and if you phone around first they will price match like for like dealers in the anglia area. They even gave me a free MOT!

What - Dont do it. cluding VAT and a free Test. Phone round and play em off on a price match.

Was quoted £270 all in by an Indy for my 2nd service. Telephoned Stratstones who initially quoted £480 but eventually price matched plus £9 for insurance on courtesy car.
