Th official version is yes. It has been posted on here somewhere before, and others have said that you can just slacken the bolts and move the steps slightly to access the jacking points. If that's the case you would have to carry a spanner to undo the bolts in case of a puncture. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Cheers for very quick reply But what if you use a 2 ton trolley jack? Do you still have to use the same jacking point? |

The nut for releasing the side steps is the same size as your wheel nuts and therefore you use your wheel brace |

I change both my rear tyres using the screw jack that come with the car and I have side steps fitted. 2009 FL2 GS

i use a trolley jack and don't have to touch the steps .
