Well I've had a Series III LWB, a Disco TDi300 (most unreliable car I have ever owned), an early Freelander, a Disco TDi200, a Disco TD5 and now the FR2, in that order, not to mention driving a wide selection of military beasts, the V8 Defender from work and a friend's Series IIA Dormobile. FR2 is best of the lot!

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Biscay Blue

Only had my 2009 Freelander for 2 months and love it. Still miss my freelander 1 which I had every possible addition added but the freelander 2 is a much more luxurious car. Not yet tried off road.

Lets hope it proves as reliable as the freelander 1 which only required tyres, pads and one headlamp bulb.

Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White

Already posted on this but thought I would add,
FL2 is 1st equal best car ever owned (out of some 40+) with new 1992 Sierra Saphire Cosworth 4x4. 3rd was previous car to that was 1979 Ford Escort RS 2000 Mk2 Custom. Both of these today worth more than an HSE FL2.
Might be wrong! where would my 1967 Mini Cooper 1275 S come in the list.

None of the above would suit the state our roads are in today!!!!! All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

Wales 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Bali Blue

The FL2 is the best car I've had to date, and my first land rover. Previously had hot hatches, some with silly amounts of tuning and power, but the FL2 has been purely amazing in every situation.

Off road its sooo capable, it amazes me every time. On road has such presence, comfortable on long journeys.

It will be showing its greatness later today, loaded up with mountain bikes and going up the mountains for a drive.

Her Laydship's new FL2 MY2010 is now 17mths old and 28k kms (17.5k mls) young. Of those kms I've probably driven circa 8k kms.

It was delivered with holes in the door trims, missing carpets, driver's door seal hanging off, all four alloys damaged, and a faulty (very smelly) FFBH.

It's AFS adaptive headlights have now failed (locked) 4 times - and are still on the "to do" list. The gear shift seized in 3rd once and was so stiff in other selections that she (and I) found it extremely difficult to engage gears. The tailgate developed a metallic rattle that 2 Swiss LR dealers simply could not fix - one used black s/a tape wrapped around the striker plate to deaden the sound as a "fix" (LPR sorted that at first time around when I was in London). The "B" post trim has worn away re seat belt abrasion and is on the to do list. It still has an unacceptable vibration issue that's on the to do list when it goes in to a another new Swiss Dealer for attention. And that lot is only a precis of what we've experienced. So this car is of poor quality and the Swiss dealership experience is totally unacceptable. To cap it all LR Switzerland have never replied to our official response to their Customer Service Survey that they asked her Ladyship to complete back in January.

In the UK over a very long period my father and I have used Series & Defenders (farm vehicles) plus Discovery (farm & leisure) and Range Rovers (leisure) and have not had such a poor LR vehicle or service. The service received from UK LR agents was absolutely fine. Contrast that with the situation here in CH to date. Mr Popham should sort this shower out re technical expertise and customer service. In yesterday's post her Ladyship had a sales offer flyer from LR CH re special deals on all models except Evoke yet they still cannot summon the energy or courtesy to respond to our dissatisfaction as expressed in their customer survey. Begs the question - did they ever read our documented reply.

Love it. I've owned only Land Rovers for the last 18 years but driven many other makes during that time. Only owned it for 8 months and it's three and a half years old but it's one of the best all-round cars that I've come across.
