They are bigger! So much so that you can't fit the standard 'S' 16" wheels on ! Wonder if they would make that much of a difference? trust you Mav! lol |

They are quite a bit bigger so will for sure improve stopping distances. From alot of experiences upgrading brakes on my Vauxhall's over the years, adding bigger brakes will also allow you not to brake as hard and still get the same power in the brakes as the standard units. As said they are also cheaper than TD4 brakes.

would the cars systems need updating so the car knows it has bigger and better brakes, im thinking about things like DSC etc |

probably wont stop the car any better initially although should perform better when 'racing' less fade etc At work

Hmm... I wonder... The brake master cylinder is the same. So the travel of its piston. Therefore, the volume of brake fluid expelled on one full push will be the same, right? But the volume of multi pot caliper is considerable bigger. So for the same pumped volume, the travel of all 4 pistons inside one caliper will be much smaller... The same with the pumped volume when the ABS motor is working... Are you sure it will be OK? In my opinion, at least the master cylinder should be changed too, if not together with the ABS system. Of course, I am referring to 343mm, 4 pots conversion. Am I missing something? |
