For the last two days I've been trying to contact this outfit to settle the outstanding amount on my loan with them. You only get through to an automated system and you have to pay the privilege of 10 pence per minute to do so.

The real gripe...yes going through the menus you can get to your settlement figure - but once you've that it says 'sorry due to a technical problem we're unable to take any payments please call back another time'. Well that's two calls so far I wonder how many more I'll have to make to be able to make a payment? Can you settle the amount at a LR dealer?

I can see no reason it has to be a non geographic contact number - if it was it would be included in my free calls - grrrrrrrrr

Thanks for that - that got me through...to the automated machine again...but persevered and finally found the option on how to speak to a human.

They explained the technical problem...there isn't one..it just means my loan account hasn't been set up to receive any payments by card...obviously...don't you just love these systems.

Anyway I can send a cheque to FGA in Leeds to pay it off - got there in the end!
