Finally got it back.

Landrover checked that it wasn't caused by a fault such as misaligned guides etc.

So may be the bird dropping a stone or previous chip was the cause Confused

However, we waited nearly a week for the parts and then the dealer had trouble fitting it (they did admit that they had never fitted one before... and had to ask for someone from Halewood to come and advise them).

The final bill was £540, which thankfully will be covered by the insurance.

Strange they had never fitted one as all early Fl2's had a sunroof recall which I believe entailed the sunroof been taken off and safety straps been installed Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I had to change the whole front glass and drivers of the sunroof. After the recall the sunroof was making strange noises, so had to be changed. Takes only a couple of screws to have the roof apart from the body by mooving the glass towards the frond of the car. The whole procedure takes about 1/2 - 1h.

May be they were just very busy and used that as an excuse... But at least it's back now and the sunroof is in one piece and working as it should. Doesn't instill any confidence in dealers though Confused
