2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Martinique Blue
Having tow bar fitted

Hello

I'm collecting a '58 HSE TD4 on Saturday and have a week to get a tow bar fitted before I tow my Cape Cutter 19 to SW France. Since I don't have the time to do it myself I'm having it done at the local Indespension. I'm opting for the proper LR wiring kit, but I'm being told that I'll also need to get LR to do the electronic settings. Does this make sense? Has anyone else had this done? How much will this cost me?

Good forum everyone.

Thanks

Yes you will, not sure how much they will charge you, I had mine fitted at landrover so all done at same time. I do remember several people on here have done the same as you are doing. Just do a search im sure you will find what you are looking for. Failing that give the dealers a quick call and ask them Thumbs Up

Depends where you are, an independent with the right kit could also enable your tow electrics much cheaper.

I had mine fitted by an indi and they did the settings at the same time they fitted the bar. Saved me about £300 on LR fitting it.

Just got my Towbar fitted by cdf (£275 for Witter flange type with 13 pin dedicated wiring). Getting it programmed at LR £60 + VAT.

Interesting. My local dealer, Stratstone in Stourbridge, is asking £108.00. Others are saying that LR quote half an hour, therefore £57.00. Clearly I won't be using my local dealer for servicing either.
