Australia 2009 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Santorini Black

Not quite sure what the TR is doing on there, the car is clearly designed for city driving. I got to sit in one at the Melbourne Motor show the other day, must say it is a nice looking car both inside and out, though I still put a question mark on the rear. Rear leg room is tighter than FL2 and so is headroom, contributed by the sloping roof.

I'm a bit confused at the pricing for Australia. The petrol is 3 grand more than the SD4, yet it's the other way around for FL2. I would of thought the higher output diesel would cost more. Maybe it's the fact the new petrol 4 is more efficient than the 6?

Pricing for Aus:
TD4 110kW six-speed Manual 4WD
■TD4 Pure six-speed Manual 4WD – $53,395
■TD4 Dynamic six-speed Manual 4WD – $66,895
■TD4 Prestige six-speed Manual 4WD – $68,895

SD4 140kW six-speed Manual 4WD
■SD4 Pure six-speed Manual 4WD – $57,395
■SD4 Dynamic six-speed Manual 4WD – $70,895
■SD4 Prestige six-speed Manual 4WD – $72,895

Si4 177kW six-speed Automatic 4WD
■Si4 Pure six-speed Automatic 4WD – $60,395
■Si4 Dynamic six-speed Automatic 4WD – $73,895
■Si4 Prestige six-speed Automatic 4WD – $75,895

Wasn't much of an in-depth review. Just stated the main facts said he liked it and drove it around a bit.

I'm booked on the Evouke Unleashed event so will get to drive it for myself soon Smile

looks to me like LR did a similar change as BCensoredW did between the X5 and X6 with the heavily sloped rear end.

I'm sure the reduced height rear is fine for the school run - but might be a bit tight for getting equipment or dog cages in Confused

But if you did have dogs in the back then at least it will be much easier to see them as your rear view mirror will be pointing straight towards their heads Whistle 2002 Honda VFR800

Just incase anyone was thinking "hey that Evoque was quite nice" here is a picture that will probably change your mind

Now I know that guy (cannot remember his name) is quite tall but jesus who loooowww is the roof on that Evoque?? Rear headroom must be severely compromised as is bootspace. And when your supplying dealer sticks their dealership sticker in the back window its gonna cover up about half of it!!! How bigs the rear wiper blade gonna be - 3 inches?? Whistle

Now if only they had left the roof at the same height front to back to increase rear space thus giving a larger back window and stuck a FL3 badge on the back........

thats a bit of a funny angled shot, i suppose head room is more to do with how low the seats are in the rear,

it would be nice to see a few of its gizmos been transfered to the FL3 in the future, surround cameras, the meridian sound system, shock absorbers etc

Though I am not sure on the dial for selecting drive etc and flappy paddles Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

the 2012 RRSport looks to be getting one, so i guess the FL2 MK11 is a class leader

Don't think it will suit the Def though Rolling with laughter Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

There was two on show in Manchester last Saturday, had a good root around them. 2 & 4 door they are smaller than FL2 but very nice in side, bit blingy may suit the Audi or BMW driver.
