Is this noise from the Turbo

I am not technically minded so excuse this post if it doesn't make sense.

I've heard a lot of people complaining about turbo whistle on FL2s. My last car had a turbo whistle which could be heard when you accelerated hard and actually sounded quite good.
However the noise I hear sounds like a mouse sqeeeling and occurs as the car (SD4) is about to change gear and subsides after the car has changed up. Its more noticeable at slow speed and not accelerating hard.

Someone suggest it might be the 'turbo gate waste' - any suggestions?
Is this a normal noise which I will just have to live with it?

Do you drive the car often? Is it stored in a shed like place? If so, it actually maybe a mouse... ! Probably the one in your turbo making it spin.

I would get this seen to asap. Is it only a squeel?or does it sound like a rasp or rattle from the exhaust?

Its a very high pitched but not very loud noise - dont know if you have ever suffered tinitus, but its about the pitch as that and expires(that what it sounds like) after the car has moved up a gear.

had a similar problem - strange squeek when getting higher up the revs but also noticed a slight lack of power at the same time, problem went away when I changed gear (and therefore lower revs) - the squeek sounded to me a bit like a belt slipping I suppose.

Problem was one of the hose clips attaching a hose to the Turbo had become detached so at higher revs the Turbo was sucking air which was causing the noise and the issue - new clip fitted problem gone away.

Hope this helps
Simon
