Extended warranty-Is it worth it?

Without LR assistance it's £550 pa.
Bearing in mind i've just had a new clutch/dmf under warranty.
My FL2 is just short of 30k miles.
Any views on this please? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

The fact that i've had to have a new clutch/dmf at only 26k is a bit worrying!!!
Love the car all the same. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Take the AA warranty. They only cover you for 500 squid x 5 claims per year, but it takes the sting out of the bill for a low cost of only 50 squid. It's on their web site.

I took out extended warrantee on my last car a Kia Sorento. The wiring underneath had corroded (yes believe it or not) and the extented warrantee for a company Kia used said it didn't cover electrics. So in my opinion you definately need to read exactly what parts are covered and if that includes labour charges. I would dare suggest its better to put money in the bank each week just in case.

Put £1000 aside in your bank account and don't buy the warranty. If it was a FFRR I would though! 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE Auto

I took out the LR extended warranty after getting quotes from elsewhere. I found warranty direct were expensive & never leave you alone constantly ringing with a 'better offer'.

So far I have had my central locking fixed twice, the first time the dealer said it wasn't covered, until I pointed out it was in the booklet. They were going to try and charge me £250, so times by 2 and I have already covered my costs pretty much. If you use a main LR dealer for your car I think their own warranty extension works. I am personally happy I bought the LR warranty, as no paperwork/phone calls etc for me to deal with other than the normal booking in.

Wear and tear is not covered as mentioned (I think warranty direct say theirs is), but MOT cover is also included.

I would certainly buy it again.

P.S. Mine is an HSE so quite a lot of toys to go wrong

I only have a GS 07 plate, 60k on the clock, i have always taken out the warranty (3 months into cars 5year) but then i get some money through work towards it. £500 per year i dont get assistance as i have RAC, europe wide, through my bank.

Car generally pretty reliable, occasional visit to team valley landrover but they do the work no quibbles under extended warranty. Latest one was a vibration between 40-50mph. They balanced wheels, replaced bushes and also replaced power steering reservoir, seems alot better. All covered by warranty. Last year it was a seized handbrake, repaired it and had to replace rear disks as they had been scored, again no extra cost to me.
