As I am going to be working overseas my Freelander is up for sale. 08 reg but currently on private plate. Baltic blue with ebony trim and wooden dash inlay. Full LR service history. Full HSE spec plus side protection strips, mudflaps, clear indicators, rubber boot mat, carpet and rubber mats for footwells. The car has done 65800 miles but condition does not reflect this. This car is exceptionally clean, and has never been offroad and never used for towing. I am looking for offers around £17995. Will donate to forum if sold to member.

That is incredibly generous of you - with that size of a donation all memebrs could have an all expenses paid weekend in a posh hotel. 2002 Honda VFR800 2002 Toyota Celica 140 Silver (mid life crisis - again!) 2007 FL2 GS Manual Army Reconnaissance Green + freel2.com sticker 2004 Toyota Celica 140 Black - Gone 2000 Toyota Celica 140 Silver - Gone 1998 Toyota Celica ST Pearl Green - Gone 1996 Nissan Primera 1.6 - Gone 1994 Rover Montego 1.6 Auto - Gone |

Car gone this afternoon at silly price as I really did need to get rid of it! Someone missed a bargain this was a really nice car. Every dealer is scared of taking a Freelander into stock at anything like a sensible price so be warned if you are trying to sell one! They are not holding their value well at all which is hard to accept considering the ambitious prices dealers are advertising them at!

Too bad you couldn't sell it privately. Good car/good price. Oh well So which sunny destination are you heading? |

Out of interest and if it's not being too cheeky, what did the dealer give you? |

I got less than £15k. I would not have sold it at this sort of price if I had not been leaving the UK and had more time. My local dealer who supplied and serviced it wasn't interested as they claimed to have too much stock. We have just bought a new Fiesta for my wife and I did consider trading the Freelander in against that rather than my wife's 4 wheel drive Panda but the Ford dealer only offered £14k! This after they were amazed at the condition of the car and couldn't believe how clean it was! Some dealers are claiming that Freelanders are losing £500 a week at the moment which begs the question as to how dealers are still advertising cars like mine for £18k+!!!

There's a couple of dealers I seen selling 08 hse's for around 20k and they look worn! So I don't know how they are loosing money! |

Sorry to hear that Stewart. Your right, you sold it very cheap. It certainly doesn't bode well for the rest of us, unless we can hold off until Christmas time and the snow.
