England 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue
08 reg TD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue

As I am going to be working overseas my Freelander is up for sale. 08 reg but currently on private plate. Baltic blue with ebony trim and wooden dash inlay. Full LR service history. Full HSE spec plus side protection strips, mudflaps, clear indicators, rubber boot mat, carpet and rubber mats for footwells. The car has done 65800 miles but condition does not reflect this. This car is exceptionally clean, and has never been offroad and never used for towing. I am looking for offers around £17995. Will donate to forum if sold to member.

Full advert and photos at www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2777918.htm

Please contact me for further information if interested.

Thanks

Stewart

That is incredibly generous of you - with that size of a donation all memebrs could have an all expenses paid weekend in a posh hotel.

Now a bargain!

Having had no interest in this car I am going to be selling it to a dealer as it really does have to go. Dealer prices are on the floor, if you don't believe me try them! Anyway I would rather it went to someone who will look after it and am looking for around £15500. This is a bargain at this price, try the dealers! There must be someone lurking on here who wants a good HSE auto in a nice colour?!

A good buy in honesty. Looks good at that price.

Car gone this afternoon at silly price as I really did need to get rid of it! Someone missed a bargain this was a really nice car. Every dealer is scared of taking a Freelander into stock at anything like a sensible price so be warned if you are trying to sell one! They are not holding their value well at all which is hard to accept considering the ambitious prices dealers are advertising them at!

Anyway no snow where I am going so won't need to buy another!

Too bad you couldn't sell it privately. Good car/good price. Oh well Confused
So which sunny destination are you heading?

Out of interest and if it's not being too cheeky, what did the dealer give you?

I got less than £15k. I would not have sold it at this sort of price if I had not been leaving the UK and had more time. My local dealer who supplied and serviced it wasn't interested as they claimed to have too much stock. We have just bought a new Fiesta for my wife and I did consider trading the Freelander in against that rather than my wife's 4 wheel drive Panda but the Ford dealer only offered £14k! This after they were amazed at the condition of the car and couldn't believe how clean it was! Some dealers are claiming that Freelanders are losing £500 a week at the moment which begs the question as to how dealers are still advertising cars like mine for £18k+!!!
Anyway it has gone and it was never a car I liked, but the financial loss still hurts. I am afraid the build quality just wasn't good enough for a £35k car although it was brilliant in the snow.

As I said before someone missed a bargain as this car was way better than many I have seen at dealers.

There's a couple of dealers I seen selling 08 hse's for around 20k and they look worn! So I don't know how they are loosing money!

Sorry to hear that Stewart. Your right, you sold it very cheap. It certainly doesn't bode well for the rest of us, unless we can hold off until Christmas time and the snow.

I know people on here in the past have said they made money on such and such a deal, but the truth is no matter which way you cut it, the only winner is the dealer, hence the fancy showroom with a leather suite, fresh coffee machines, TFT TV's etc. To my knowledge, no dealer is a registered charity. They are in the business of making money by selling Joe Public a LR, period.
