2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Sumatra Black
First time

Hi all,

I've just ordered a 2008 GS TD4 with body kit and a couple of other extras. Never had a Land Rover before but have always wanted one. I want one so much that I'm trading in an 18 month old Jeep Patriot with 16k on the clock to get this one! I thought the Jeep would make a good poor man's alternative, but one demo drive in the freelander set me straight on that.
My new one has got 60,000 on the clock and I'm planning on doing around 10-15k per year so hopefully will last ok. The only thing I was concerned about was the mileage, but having read a few threads on here, my mind was put at ease.
This is a fantastic forum for new/first time owners and I'll no doubt be asking all sorts of questions after I've picked it up!

Thanks Iain, the car was initially a demonstrator at the main dealer where I'm buying it from and then went to a private owner. It's got a full service history with the same dealer also.
I don't do that many miles per year so hopefully over time I can even the miles out a bit!

Well, after what feels like an eternity (one day shy of three weeks) and numerous calls to the DVLA, my personal reg transfer has finally gone through and my GS is ready for collection! Will be picking it up at noon tomorrow - very excited, and despite the frustration felt from having to wait so long, really looking forward to owning my first Land Rover!
