2011 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White

Less than a month and 900miles on our SD4.

Average for our normal journeys is 33mpg - which is about 30/70 mix of uncongested town and dual carriage way drives. On a recent 240 motorway round trip averaged almost 39mpg, on the way out I was driving like the preverbial granny because the car was still under the 500mile mark but on the way back I was a bit heavy on the right foot Twisted Evil .

One thing I have noticed is that at the start of any journey, the range drops quite quickly, but once the engines warmed up, it always creeps back up. Currently at 280 miles after a full tank (just under half of that left) and tc says theres another 220 in there - so 500 miles to a tank. Down 6mpg off official figures.

Old car was a Vauxhall Antara, similiar size and weight, 2.0 auto diesel - which we would be lucky to get 23mpg, or 320 miles to a 65litre tank! Down 10mpg! off official figures.

I'm well chuffed with the SD4, estimate saving just under £1k at the pumps this year - but with an extra 40ps, 100nm.
