iPhone USB charger

Well my iPhone is nearly 2 years old and the charge only lasts half a day. So I need to be able to charge it, especially if out for the day in the Freely. The LR one provided in my Rangie Sport didn't charge the phone, so which USB charger are you using for your iPhone and from where did you get it?

Thanks. Thumbs Up 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE Auto

I have the iPhone 4 and the USB lead came with the phone. Infact (as was probably the case with previous models) the 3 pin mains plug slots onto the USB connector for normal mains charging.

I suspect that Apple online store will sell these but prices will be steep. Perhaps Amazon or ebay would be a better bet. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I use a 12 volt to USB charger for my iphone 4 from BELKIN that plugs into the front power outlet on the freelander console. Works well.

Ok so the white charging cable is sufficient, why do LR charge £25 for their iPod lead then, if the charger lead with the phone works fine? 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE Auto

I use an Xtrememac cigarette lighter USB adapter from the Apple store for my iPad in the Defender but there are these from Griffin for £12.99 http://www.iworld.co.uk/p/Griffin_PowerJol..._iPods.htm How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Sorry guys I'm losing it, I need the 12v plug-in charger for an iPhone, the USB is for the other car!

Thanks Tim, just what I'm after. Thumbs Up 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE Auto

This

is good for multiple iphones in the car or ipods

was recommended to me by a nice LR dealer who said the iPod connector is not worth the money just for flicking songs; it means you only have the one cable to charge and audio out and I think the iPhon/iPod treats it as a line out rather than headphones?

I think the problem is that the LR fitted USB doesn't charge the iPhone, it's only a data transfer port unfortunately. However all is not lost - for 2012MY LR's will no longer require special cables for connecting iPhones, you will be able to use your white Apple cable to recharge the battery and to transfer data to the car's audio server Shocked ................... well you will with the Evoque which will come with a single shot CD player but sufficient memory on the car's audio server to store 10 cds of music and some movies How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

I use the USB cable provided with the phone and connect it to a 12v socket converter. However the charging is intermittant- it charges for a few seconds then stops as if not connected properly. But my iPod charges fine. Anyone else got this issue?
