Thanks both of you,I have had that plate since it was first issued in 1996, also had the chance of B3 CAT as well but couldn't afford it at the time. i will never sell the plate as I can't get to grips remembering these new fangled reg numbers

D4 DOG or C4 CAT would be more grammatically correct of course, but no doubt they are kept in reserve waiting for the prices to go up I think we should be like the US where you can have whatever you like as long as no one else has it, its not rude or obscene and it doesnt cost anything. If D4 DOG or C4 CAT ever came up for sale you would be looking at several £10 thousand of pounds for each one, well out of my price range. Even my plate would fetch between £2/3000 pounds but it is never going to come up for sale.
