Not worth travelling from afar but anyone who is fairly local, let me know if you fancy meeting up here. Some excellent video footage could be taken on some very steep decents and of course the mud bath. If it rains this will greatly improve the somewhat drier than usual mud bath.

Ordnance survey maps confirms this route as being public access recreational route. Local authorities can place signs imposing restrictions but there are no signs. Yippee Laughing

There is an excellent quality restaurant nearby too with local produce including fantastic steak! Very Happy

Definitely so on the main bit. The steep rocky slope at the Brackley Gate end will be a closer call but should still be ok. Best bet if you came along would be to watch me go up and down first and you can judge how close it is. Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Using the google maps guide (allowing for errors) its roughly 700 metres from the start of the uneven track itself to the top of the very steep slope at the other end. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Ah bit short for me to make the trip over, I fancy doing something a bit longer. Has anyone drove across Dartmoor?

I agree it is too far for you. 24 carat gold finding for me. 12 miles from where I live and about 4 miles from where I work. Very Happy

Yes I have, but I booked military training areas first! And put a few dents in the sills of my FR1 doing a rescue. As far as I am aware it is illegal to drive off road anywhere on Dartmoor, unless you are military with the necessary permissions.
