Collected our MY2014 Freelander XS yesterday from Lancaster Land Rover in Reading. The whole process has been great.

We were unable to find the spec we wanted from the group’s stock either delivered or already on order (which would have been MY2013, of course) so we placed a build order on 5 October. They substituted our required spec for a model already in the production calendar to keep the waiting time down and assured that it would definitely be delivered before Christmas. A few days later they phoned with an estimated delivery date of late November.

A couple of weeks ago we had a phone call to confirm delivery in the last week in November giving us plenty of time to sort out insurance, cash, etc. When we collected we got a car with a half-full tank and Mrs WDW got a large bouquet.

All in all an enjoyable experience and although all the optional extras that dealers like to sell were mentioned there was no pressure at any time.

MY14 Evoque has had problems on the production line with the panoramic roof so they have stopped production until it is rectified. In the mean time focus has gone onto building the MY14 Freely and delivery dates have been put forward. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
