Good old webuyanycar.com

Decided to put my vehicle details through their website out of curiosity.

10 plate GS TD4-e with cold climate pack (although optional extras make no difference Sad )
First registered 28/04/10, 9k miles, perfect condition, not had first service yet.

Here is their valuation: Laughing

Your Online Valuation: £18,615
Thank you for using webuyanycar.com. Based on a purchase price of £18,615.00, a transaction fee of £74.99 including VAT will apply and will be deducted from your online valuation.
PLUS you'll obviously be able to redeem the value of your road fund license, adding more to your new car fund!
We guarantee we are willing to buy every car we value. So that we don't waste your time, we also guarantee that if there is a change in the market value of your car resulting in a reduced valuation, then we will let you know what the new valuation is, at least 24 hours before your appointment, so that you have the opportunity to cancel, if you choose to do so.
We always carry out an on-site inspection of a vehicle before we offer to buy it. If we consider that its value is affected by any aspect of its history, condition, including any unusual feature or customisation, which was not apparent to us when we gave the online valuation, the price that we offer for it will differ from the online valuation. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I bet it would have been more back in December when the mere mortals in their 2WD cars were floundering about and getting stuck Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

It's surprising how the December weather made a difference to 4x4 prices,I have recently come from a Touareg to Freelander.Early December WBAC gave an online valuation of £16800, when I got a revised valuation in early Jan the price had gone up to £20600 and today the valuation is £16600!.It was the main reason for selling when I did, it's amazing what difference a bit of snow makes.Incidently the local vw dealer gave an underwrite valuation of more than WBAC.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

To be fair, Freelander 2 prices are sky high at the moment.

I went to look at a 4 month old 2011 HSE SD4 last week which caught my eye, and the dealer offer me £17700 for my December 2006 HSE with 42000 miles on it.

The dealer told me that good HSE's are hard to find and manual HSE's are like hens teeth. They had a 2007 '07' HSE TD4 Auto on the forecourt with 37000 miles on for £20995!

They really are gaining excellent residuals at the moment. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

No they arn't! They were more than 1k plus earlier this year. The price has dropped. It's not so much how much you get for your car, unless it's cash, more the price to change.

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Ipanema Sand

Just got rid of my BMW.

WBAC gave me a web quote of £10600 Rolling with laughter Evil or Very Mad

I found several other similar setups on the web and eventually went with wewillbuyyourcar.com (Hull based) and got offered £14170 which was much more in line with what I was after. Very professional. They deducted £100 for 2 chipped alloys (fair enough) and ignored a quite bad paint chip that I had missed. Also they came to me and there was no 'commission' or whatever charge. Recommend them. Brian

I think it may depend on what cars they want at the time you ask for a valuation. WBAC gave me £600 above book figure for my 07 X-Trail a few weeks ago and £1,600 above the best dealer p/ex I could get! I have to say I was gobsmacked but it just shows that WBAC are not always a bad choice.

You just have to look on it as any other thing you sell... if you have what they want then they will pay... if not they won't and it is then up to you to decide if you want to accept their offer. After all... the choice is yours to sell so WBAC should get such a bad press as they do IMO.

I have sold 2 cars to them in the past few weeks and I am very happy with their service. I know that many others have not had a good experience or have had rediculously low quotes. Well, fair enough... don't sell to them. Simple.

United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Santorini Black

The problem with them is when you fill out the online description of your car there are too few options available to best describe your car & in the text in the first post that says on inspection of your car it has any addon bits etc this is likely to affect your valuation! God knows what they would say if they viewed mine lol! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

the good thing about owning a land rover is it will always sell privately (no matter what condition model etc...) for better money than any dealer will give or and stupid car buying site!! And if you cant sell it privately your doing something wrong or have it priced to much!!
