Still no news Sad
If I don't get Lloyd back tomorrow I think I will go insane. The Citroën is so bad, my back is killing me!

Okay, I have an update. Phoned TVLR this morning. Lloyd needs new bushes on gearbox (eh? He's only 30 days old!!!!), turbo has been changed (apparently still a bit if a whistle). So... New parts arriving on Tuesday. I'm afraid to say I had a bit of a 'wobbler' (rage for anyone not from the NE). Obviously it's not the fault of TVLR (who are absolutely fantastic!) or lloyds because they are the dealer. However, I'm raging. 34k for a new car and it's gearbox is in bits!
So I contacted LR assist to see if they could sort me out with a LR courtesy car... No was the reply! So I then raged at lloyds, who were fantastic, they've swapped TVLRs C1 for a 60plate HSE FL2. Which has made me much happier. In no way am I annoyed with the dealer or TVLR but come on LR, a 30 day old car that needs this amount of work done! Barmy!
Will post when Lloyd comes home.

Glad you've at least got a decent courtesy car now. I'll look forward to seeing what happens after Tuesday.

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red

Hi MM

got to ask - after 30 days why take car to different dealer for work?

I would have been straight back to my supplying dealer just to make sure any reject options were covered.

I know that we all have our favourites places but I know what I would have done.. Can only guess TVLR are closer for you?

Hats off to LLoyds for sorting out courtesy car for you to cover work they haven't diagnosed. TOP SERVICE! Thumbs Up

Good luck with sorting Lloyd out. Hope this doesn't dent you FL2 relationship.

Hi,
Still no news. Parts were due in yesterday so hoping I will get a phone call to collect Lloyd later today.
I took car to TVLR just because they are closer- 40 mile round trip cf 120 miles.
The vehicle I currently have, (and I'm glad to have!) is I assume the same as Lloyd minus the facelift? Guess what... It has the twang under the floor when you set off and vibration in 6th gear. So I'm thinking WTF. Am I going insane because this is normal???
I honestly think I'm wasted in my current job. I should be whipping ar Censored s at LR to improve the QC.
ARghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Lloyd having final gear box parts fitted today (gear box mounting) then going for final test drive and if all is well wil be coming home in the morning.
Fingers crossed he's all better now!
Owned him for 37 days, been in garage for 11 of them.

Good luck Thumbs Up

If it make you feel any better, I once had a brand new Citroen C5 that spent a total of 5 months, out of its first 12 months, in the garage! Shocked Nothing minor either, all serious strand-you-in-the-middle-of-nowhere engine failures....

Okay...
Picked Lloyd up from TVLR and all was well, turbo replaced (much quieter but whirr still audible. This is NORMAL- see my posting in technical on high pitched noise), twitchy gear stick gone, twang under floor gone. Driving back I was thinking 'i can't wait to post a new topic- new car, very happy'... BUT 35 miles later and both twang and twitch were back. So I jumped into William (again!) my neighbours car (almost identical to Lloyd) to double check he didn't do any of these things- which he doesn't. So tried to phone TVLR (engaged) so phoned LR customer services. They were unable to get me a LR tech (AA are good but I much prefer LR assist). Great LRA tech came yesterday, he thinks the twitchy gear stick might just be a feature of my car (and shouldn't cause any harm) but he was far more concerned regarding the twang under the floor which he felt through the clutch peddle. Lloyd will be lifted to TVLR tomorrow. TVLR have been brilliant, they are genuinely as baffled as me about lloyd's perculiarities! So a LR engineer is going up there this week on an unrelated matter and they are going to ask him to have a look. In the meantime I have a purple disco4 with a missing wing mirror cover (pre delivery!), blue dye on the arm rest and lipstick on the windscreen visor ewwwwwwwwww!
