Wheels ???????????

Hi Guys (and Gals)

I've hunted through the topics and really haven't found what I'm looking for so your comments would be appreciated. (Positive and Negative)

I've wanted to change the wheels on my Freelander 2 HSE for a while now and would like to know if it's ok to change to wheels that are recommended for your vehicle by a retailer?
I realise that it's classed as a modification and the insurance company would have to be informed but are there any safety or legal implications I should be aware of?

By the way, what are these "Lookers" I'm hearing about??
Cheers

as long as the loading ratio, bolt pattern and sizes of the wheels are correct (ie not to large so as to catch the car when you have tyres on) you can change to whatever style takes your fancy Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

npinks thanks for the reply.
The wheels I'm looking at are ok for size and they are rated @ 690 kgs each.
Is this ok?
Cheers

Check the load rating against the possible combinations for the vehicle as per sticker on the door striker or handbook. If it's lower, then your on a sticky wicket, not least with your insurance company, whom, if there was an accident, might claim your fandango wheels were partly to blame and invalidated the insurance, worst case.

Legally, there are specific offences under the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regs 1986 as amended and failing that the catch all, All Parts and Accesories offence, under the same Regs, which cover such things that caused, cause or might cause danger to any person in the vehicle, on the road etc. It's called a Traffic Officers Breach of the Peace.
