Looking to buy an LR2 as my company car in Dubai when I move there in the coming months and so have done a bit of digging into the specs offered and thought it might make interesting reading for some.

The prices are tax free and as I'm sure we'll all agree are cheap, but it is all relative.

They only offer two model options both of which are the petrol i6 3.2 with the CommandShift Auto and all of the and do not offer options;

The price difference between the two models is 4000 Euro (2600 GBP), which I am starting to think is a bargain for what you get extra on the HSE model.

How do the above compare to European and US specs?

Is the Naviagtion system any good and worth the money, or is aftermarket maybe a better way to go?

I don't know if leather seats is a good option in a hot climate. Bi-xenons should be good, but "climate control windscreen" (heated windshield?) is useless there. I don't know how single CD system compares to 6-CD system since they don't offer single here in the US, but 6-CD is just fine unless you are into audiphile quality sound. Audio system/head unit cannot be easily replaced because it's a fiber optic system.

I'd ask if the dealer can fit things like bluetooth to SE model..

Just to clear something out the climate control windscreen is actually very important in Dubai. The weather here is extremely humid upto 99% sometimes. and the tempreture can reach more than 45C. when you turn on the car with the AC the whole windscreen fogs up, and no matter how hard you try to wipe the foggy windscreen it doesnt help ... the only way to fix this is to heat up the windscreen to clear up all the foggyness
I checked out the car this morning and there aren't any 'wires' in the windscreen. Can someone confirm this please?

They do have wires my friend, they take a few hundred miles to get used to then your eye focuses past them. Defkalion in Greece seemed to suffer particularly at night,,,Hey Def!! can you still see them at night or have you got used to them....not wishing to resurect an old issue for you ???

man that sucks can a normal windcreen be installed?

Got them in mine and I don't see them at all - and I've got no problems with my eyesight, before anyone says that!

I guess it's a personal thing, they're not as visible as the one's in my wife's Mini, but they don't bother me either

That makes me happy as it is one less change to get used to......I think a new country, house and car is more than enough at once....oh as well as getting married
