I was wondering has anyone some information that could help. I drove my fl2 into town this evening and when i came out of the shop to head off again the key fob would not stay in the receiver. It kept pushing it out. The remote works in all other ways, lock, unlock, alarm etc. But it won't stay in the holder and let me start it or even get the ignition on. Never happened before. The main dealer is closed for the weekend and I was wondering had anyone any experience. Can I reset in some way? Thanks |

I'd suggest it was a hardware problem with the module in the dash itself. My next stop would be the dealer I'm afraid Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

I had the same problem, but my spare key did the job. Seems that when i droped my key it broke. The dealer ordered me a new one and it took them half hour to program it. (never had seen it before he said). |

It occurs to me that there must be an awful lot of pocket debris carried in to the receptor in the tread of the ignition fob. That being the case, you would expect the problem to more prevalent on higher mileage FL2's. Of mine both FL2’s, major and minor, had their moments in ejecting the fob but never more than a couple of times before engaging and allowing ignition.
