From what I can make out, and no, this isn't a definitive answer.
All 2007's do and as far as I am aware 2008's too. The vast majority of 2009's do, while the odd one or two "my service managers included apparently" does not. While the majority of 2010's do not, with the odd one or two that do.
The 2010's boing/ping probably went around the same time as the rear headphone sockets "cost cutting", hence the reason some have and some have not

For a definitive answer and I'm not sure I have the time or tenacity, it appears that you'll have to go direct to LR, as every dealer seems to have a different opinion and opinions are all you'll get.

The 'bong' can be programmed either 0 or 1, ie off or on Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

my 2010 doesn't... checked with the dealer who said the 2010MY -> do not make the bong.

Maybe they've programmed the bong to 'off' as default.
But it's still there, the bong isn't just used for below -4. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

The only boings I hear are in my head, but a new medication regimen should resolve this soon, or so I'm told:wink:

I've turned the bong off for the searbelt! That was really annoying, especially when the plod stops you, you can hardly hear them, but it was a warning for something.

By happen chance, I looked down at the dash and noticed that it briefly indicated "EXT". I don't recall what the temperature reading was, but I'm assuming that "EXT" means exterior, or external (temperature).

It registers from the passenger side door mirror (there is a little bump on the underside)
