Nick, (got it right this time, sorry for the mistake before)
You've stated before that you do lots of short trips which will ruin the mpg of even a Smart (not very smart to me) car. And of course yours is a auto box. So low mpg is to be expected.
At least you don't moan and winge about your mpg; now if you'd got an I6 ..........! Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Am achieving around 29 mpg in 2010 Td4e XS. Bit dissappointed to be honest, although I'm mostly driving around town. RoadTrip LE shows me around 2 mpg less than OBC also. Have done 9k miles now, so I don't suppose its going to get any better than this ;-( Fuji White MY13 SD4 Dynamic

SWMBO is struggling to get 30 mpg on a TD4e manual, not exactly what is promised in the advertising blurb!
Other than that she seems to like it and is not bothered by the rubbery transmission/drive, ice cold gear knob, cheap feeling light switch, high boot floor height, one piece tailgate being difficult with more than 1 dog, offset hand brake and poor seat comfort, all which "p" me off.

Could be worse David W, you could have got any of the FL's competitors and the list would be twice as long Thumbs Up

How on earth does a 2 ton 4x4 do 45 mpg?!

And Dave, what've you done to your D3 to get 39mpg at 70? Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Just driving like miss daisy Laughing , but seriously though, on a run I'm getting more or less the same mpg as my old FL2, a bit less around town though so I'm happy with the D3 with all it's creature comforts Thumbs Up , would like a D4 but can't afford one yet Big Cry ______________________

We never saw more than 31 in ours Big Cry Actually that's lie, resetting during a 50 limit on the motorway gave 38 but that's cheating!

Stick with the D3, much, much cooler Cool Thumbs Up Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

I had a test drive in the D4 and I will admit it's quite possibly the best car out there, definitely the pic of the LR range if funds allow. it's just the way it looks I have a problem with. You can tell the designer worked for companies like Lincoln previously in his career Big Cry Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
