Had nothing but trouble since buying new SD4

I got an unrepairable puncture in the other car, the grill element in my oven has blown and this morning I've woken up to a central heating pump that has died and leaking water everywhere.

Also during the couple of weeks of ownership, I've had a bootlace break, my trousers don't fit as well as they did before Xmas and I have a film stuck in my BluRay player since my nephew's made me watch WALL-E for what seemed like the 1000th time.

Everyone said I'd have problems if I bought a Land Rover and maybe I should have listened, I am now having to wait in for the heating guy and I'm sure it's colder inside than out at the moment, I have a craving for toast that seems will go unsatisfied and now that Woolworths have gone, where the hell do you get bootlaces Rolling Eyes

It's all Land Rovers fault.

Still, the Freelander itself has been great. Very Happy

Looking on the bright side I can always wrap up and watch a film while I wait. WAAALLLL...EEEEEE Noooooooooooooooo Big Cry For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

funny enough my jeans don't fit like they did before Christmas either, so I know how you feel.

we also bought a new Smeg fridge freezer before Christmas.........big mistake, we now have a replacement after three engineer visits, and now he is coming back to look at the replacement !!

now this is what you call really bad build quality..............but hey it's Italian, what did I expect ??

Buy Miele, a bit more expensive, but you can leave them to someone in your will.

No answer to LR question. They do break down rather a lot.

to be honest I thought the Smeg was far too expensive at £1300 !!

but my wife had her heart set on it, so I went with it.................but now I have big regrets and if the saga continues will want my money back and buy a Bosch, etc for half the price.

Rolling with laughter 11MY SE SD4 in Lago Grey just arrived with a free Garmin thrown in! This could be the start of a beautiful relationship (I'm an eternal optimist, and former FL1 owner)!

Naw, Miele if you want it to last without any trouble.

Their washing machines are used on the North Sea Oil Rigs, 24/7 and never break down. People have them 20 years and get fed up of them before any mischief.

Anyway, they do the whole range of appliances. Last thing I got last year was one of their tumble dryers. Lights up like a Tardis, auto everything, cost 1k.

Oh no I cannot - the various Miele have all died including the replacements.

FWIW
Over my life time I've spent much of my pension portfolio on household electrics and outdoor gear and transport, only one manufacturer has been absolutely 100% reliable and did (and still does after 32yrs) exactly what it said on the label, and that's my King of Mercian cycle - faultless. Next comes Patagonia outdoor gear with a close 96% performance (a single ski jacket failure replaced f.o.c) and then Whirlpool with a score of 89% in the farm kitchen and laundry room from the 1989 rebuild (hob, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, tumble dryer and washing machine) (ceramic hob cracked twice - third f.o.c. replace has been fine since 1994).
