Just noticed the other day that I get a bit of a sqeal when reversing out of the drive. They have been salting my road almost every day for months now (school route) and assuming that might be the problem. Only happens on start up. Thinking that I might be blasting salt into the bearings as I regularly hose underneath the car to remove the salt.

Or, could it be the bearings (55k miles)?

look at the hand brake they can sometimes catch when reversing and need slight adjustment had the same on my range rover last year

I had exactly that problem and it was indeed the handbrake shoes corroded and sticking to the inside of the drum.

Had it all replaced and don't use the handbrake in winter now!
