If you keep the unlock button on the remote depressed, all the windows open. However, if you do not open any doors, the car will automatically lock the doors. I wonder if the key fob has been been accidentally trapped by something. Equally, keep the lock button depressed and all the window close. |

This is a feature of many Ford (or ex Ford) group cars, Ford, Volvo, Mazda, Jaguar etc. VW group cars do it, too. Probably others too... Trevor

Every so often our 2005 Focus does this, and I don't mean the global opening system. I've got back to the car, admittedly on only 3 or 4 occasions in 5 years, and they've been wide open Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

The global closing and global opening is my best party trick when folks ask about the new car. That and the folding back wing-mirrors. Simple stuff and probably on a few cars now, but certainly not completely common. 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame. |

I'm sure my Jeep Cherokee had something like this, and that was an M Reg. Probably didn't weork properly though, like most of the rest of the car. |

Great feature but no so great if you sit on your keys as this can easily occur. Happened once to me - went to my car and all four windows were down!
